Fine condition dark blue boards with silver spine lettering contained in a very good condition non price clipped color illustrated and photographic dust jacket. Includes Acknowledgment by W.C. Fields; Acknowledgments by Michael M. Taylor; and Introduction. Illustrated with 60 (sixty) black-and-white photographs. The lower right front folded edge of the dust jacket is somewhat rubbed (see photographs). All pages are in fine condition and the binding is exceedingly tight and square (see photos). "W.C. Fields - the Great Man, one of the exceptional comic geniuses of our time, an original anti-hero of today's "let it all hang out" generation - wrote one book in his time and this is it. When first published in 1940, Fields For President received little or no attention, and copies of that printing are today collector's items. Now these extraordinary expressions of opinion are here reissued with the addition of many photographs, some never before published, and brief biographical commentary. The Fields mania of recent times is a phenomenon difficult to explain. His old movies are constantly being shown on TV and in theaters; his picture appears on posters, postcards, and sweatshirts; his name is used to exploit various products. But here are his views, as he patently put them down three decades ago, on politics, babies, big business, marriage, physical fitness, to name only a few. It's W.C.
