Soft cover. Condizione: Very Good. One sheet, six paragraph, typed letter signed, dated January 2, 1941 on embossed City of New York Office of the Mayor letter head in which Mayor La Guardia replies to someone representing another New Yorker who was denied housing by the Housing Authority. With absolute clarity, La Guardia explains why the subject did not qualify and recommends some low-rent options. A real time piece in that it exemplifies old-fashioned constituent service and how the buck stops at the mayor's deak., Ah, the good ole'days! Included is a 4 page pamphlet reproducing remarks by Judge Hubert Delany on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of La Guardia's death. La Guardia (1882 - 1947) served as the 99th Mayor of New York City from 1934 to 1945. His popularity endures: what other mayor has both an airport and a Pulitzer Prize-winning Broadway musical named after him?
