Scarce but heavily worn children's book (please read complete description) about a fawn who wanders into a farmyard and eventually returns to the wild, told in poetry and illustrated with hand colored engravings. The illustrations and text are…within a border, with the illustration comprising about two thirds of the space, the verse the other third, pages printed on one side only. Pictorial hardcover with red cloth spine, 16 pages. Covers heavily worn and loosened but not detached, spine covering heavily chipped and nearly gone, binding shaken with some pages barely attached, some light finger soil and foxing to pages but no significant spots, mainly just grubbiness, dried mildew stains to rear endpapers and verso of final page, no markings, no chips or tears to the pages. Hard Cover. Fair/No. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
