This is the first edition, second printing of the 1963 Rutgers University Press edition. The first printing of the Rutgers edition has a paper label on spine. The author, M.R. Harrington, former curator of the Southwest Museum in Los Angeles, interviewed members of the Lenape tribe/nation, in the 1920s' in preparation for this title. Book is bright, tight and clean. Light, scant foxing along top page edges. Faint light spot on front cover. One tip gently pushed. Neatly written gift inscription dated 1964 on FFEP. Original DJ with $4.95 price-clipped from flap. DJ shows a couple of minor faint cloud outlines, a couple of tiny edge chips, and minor light soiling. An uncommon hardcover edition, in like DJ, with a central focus on the Lenape Indians, of New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania. VG/VG. Clarence Ellsworth (illustratore).
