Condizione: Good. Hardcover, fan-folded book with pictures and text on both sides. Very minimal wear noted to book, with some wrinkling noted to top edge near top corner. Pages clean and bright without markings. Book contained within a box. Box is intact, with creasing to spine edge. Some minor tears noted to corners. This is a display copy. This book presents a simultaneity of histories. On one hand, we have a group of pictures culled from the immense stockpile created by artists in India over the past century; images that have served multiple uses and played contradictory roles, images whose semiotics are intertwined with the social and political histories of the Indian state. Complementary to this, we have a collection of packaging for a particular product and can discern the desires that have been projected onto that product. This is a book on firework boxes and its art. This book contains 14 meters of it, an end-to-end display of kitsch magic.
