Akribische Untersuchung zum "Malmedy-Massaker" (Baugnez bei Malmedy am 17. Dezember 1944), die allerdings mit Vorsicht betrachtet werden sollte. Der Verfasser, ein Hobbyhistoriker, lässt… sich zu häufig von persönlichen Eindrücken aus Zeitzeugeninterviews (ca. 35-40 Jahre nach den Ereignissen geführt) leiten und vernachlässigt oder übersieht Schlüsseldokumente, wie etwa den Autopsiebericht der amerikanischen Militärärzte. Sicherlich keine Veröffentlichung aus der Nazi-/Neonazi-Ecke, aber manchmal einer Verharmlosung der "Waffen-SS" gefährlich nahe. (Vgl. die Rezension von Peter Lieb in der FAZ vom 18.7.2010 zur 2009 erschienenen Neuausgabe des vorliegenden Buches).
