Vintage mini-poster for a concert featuring artists Gary Glitter and The Rapiers, performing at London's Hammersmith Odeon on Friday June 13th, 1986. Glitter here is seen at his glam rock peak, wearing a deeply v-necked white jumpsuit and large shining shoulder armor. Known largely for his "Rock and Roll parts I and II," an esse…ntial for any ballpark experience and musical influence on countless other recording artists, this poster dates from Glitter's comeback tour after his temporary retirement in 1976. In the late 1990s Glitter would be ousted for a number of sex offender charges, including ownership of a large cache of child pornography and committing sexual acts with minors in multiple countries worldwide. His brief popularity, followed by his catastrophic fall, could in some ways be said to mirror the glam rock genre's trajectory as well. 11.5 x 16.5 inches, photocopy on pink stock.
