ISBN 978-1-84151-891-6 This detailed map covers the village of Cudworth, just NE of Barnsley. Cudworth was notable as the unlikely terminus of the Hull & Barnsley Railway, and our map includes that - a platform alongside the Midland station. There are numerous other railway lines and junctions on the map, which stretches north to Cudworth North Jct, west to Monk Bretton Jct. Other features include the Bridge Inn, Klondyke, Midland Bleachworks, Lower Cudworth, St John the Baptist church, Barnsley Road, Market Street and the centre of Cudworth. The village was growing steadily at the time of this map and several streets are shown half built up. On the reverse a section extends coverage south towards Ardsley Tunnel, including Lundwood Smallpox Hospital, and we also include a directory for Cudworth in 1889.
