A listing of book collectors, listed alphabetically and by collecting interests. From the library of independent book dealer Herbert K. Goodkind (so stamped on the front pastedown), who specialized in rare books and collected musical scores and books. In 1958, he sold 36,000 volumes to the University of Texas at Austin (the Goodkind-Bookman Collection) and in 1969 he sold 5,000 books and scores to Hofstra University. The H. K. Goodkind collection of more than 1,200 books, scores, periodicals, auction catalogues and other titles was jointly purchased by The Violin Society of America. Goodkind has made pencil notations next to the names of some collectors listed in this book. Very Good (contents clean & tight, little wear covers). $50.00.

Hardcover. Condizione: Good+. Signed by the author. Quite a bit of wear and rubbing to the edges of the spine and corners. The front cover was detached and has been expertly mended. The slipcase has heavy wear and some soiling. I've taped up the slipcase with clear strapping tape. A rare and important masterwork by this Stadivarius authority. Includes hundreds of photographs of Stadivarius violins, with descriptions, ownership provenance histories, and valuations. Truly an amazing treatise. ; 780 pages.
