Lengthy gift inscription penned to front endpage. Dust jacket retains much of the front cover illustration but is missing swaths from the edges. Jacket spine panel has a long ope tear and there is heavy external (oldand yellowed) tape repairs to spine and rear flap fold. Front flap is lost. The book itself is sound and decent with some light shelf rubbing to corner tips and one signature starting slightly mid-book. Uncommon in original editions. With humorous jazz age illustrations in b&w. VG- in poor jacket.
