Softbound. Printed by George Mohr. Vellum wraps with applied red/gilt label stating, "Souvenir de Heidelberg" in center. Bw frontis map is engraved with keyed letters to the text description following the title-page. 5 pp text (in English) followed by 12 tissue-guarded steel engravings. The text is in English. There is no indication within the text or on the engraved plates when this book was printed, but other copies were printed circa 1870. The text pages appear to be more recent than the actual engravings. Likely the engravings were printed circa 1870 and published later with the English text pages added. Engraving titles are in the original French/German. Good, tight, unmarked copy but with staining and wear to covers; various degrees of foxing to margins around the steel engravings; no foxing on any of the actual images.
