Three scratches on the front cover and a chip on the bottom of the back cover near the spine are the reasons the condition of the book was downgraded. The work tells the story of railroading from the debut of steam locomotives in the 1820's to the current period. Book is clean & binding is tight. A very serviceable copy.

Presumed first printings w/NAP, two volume set bound in plastic combs, both volumes have previous owner's stamp to upper corner of first endpage, slight bumps to corners of covers with some faint creasing to a few pages in text blocks, some slight edgewear to covers, a hint of creasing to covers along binding, and faint rubbing, Volume II additionally has a faint diagonal crease to rear cover, otherwise a solid VG set.
