    Stapled. Condizione: Fair-Good. No Jacket. Ruzzie Green (cover) (illustratore). First Edition. The May 30, 1942 issue of the Saturday Evening Post. Fiction includes most notably part 2 of 8 of TCOT Careless Kitten, a Perry Mason novel by Erle Stanley Gardner. Other fiction includes parts 5 of 8 of Assignment Brittany, a suspense novel by Helen MacInnes. Cover art by Ruzzie Green (Homecoming Kiss). Soiling to the front cover. There is a7.5" horizontal closed tear on pages 95 - 100 & the back cover a little more than half way down the fore edge. The back cover has a 1.5" x 1" chip at the lower corner. There are cutouts on pages 37/38 (a cartoon on page 38 the affects part of the GM ad on page 37) and 87/88 (a poem at the bottom of page 88 that affects the Hartford Insurance ad on page 87). The cutouts don't affect the text of any articles or stories. A fair to good copy with a Perry Mason serial installment.

The 6/26 issue has more wear to the spine and the center pages (49 - 52) are loose. The 7/10 issue has two fold creases (11" & 6") to the lower right and some light soiling. A good to very good set with serial installments by prominent and collectible authors. A heavy, oversize set that will require additional postage.

Original vintage World War Two recruitment poster calling for nurses - You are needed now Join the Army Nurse Corps Apply at your Red Cross recruiting station - featuring an elegant photo by the notable American photographer Ruzzie Green (Kneeland L'Amoureux Green; 1892-1956) of a young lady in a smart US Army uniform with an Army Nurse Corps branch insignia badge on the lapels of her jacket set against a light blue background. Established in 1901, the United States Army Nurse Corps' successful recruitment campaign during WWII increased the number of nurses from a thousand at the beginning of the war to 65,000 in both the Army and Army Air Force and the Navy by 1945. Poster 710-A June 1943. Good condition, folds, tears. Size: 79x52cm.
