The authors state: "it seems that a knowledge of airplanes is essential to the survival of civilization." Interestingly, at least to me, the co-author George H. Tweney went on to be a book collector and wrote an outstanding annotated bibliography of important titles related to the Pacific Northwest. (The Washington 89).
