Questi nostri recenti anni hanno infatti visto una riconsiderazione del romanticismo storico nella multiforme fenomenologia di istanze e di proposte. Superati i dualismi spesso schematici tra razionalismo e irrazionalismo, immediatezza e riflessione, e attenuata la contrapposizione frontale fra classici e romantici, si tende oggi ad accentuare un'idea di poesia romantica nella quale il poeta é capace di guardare la realtà con occhi diversi e dove si attua una rivalutazione attiva del sentire romantico. La critica letteraria ed artistica contemporanea ha compreso e comprende sempre più che le proprie pratiche operative non possono non fondarsi su una teoria ermeneutica di origine romantica (un esempio fra tanti quello di W. Manuscript annotations and mimeo snipe on the verso of each, with two of the three having keybook hole punches at the left margin (not linen backed, however). Set in ancient Egypt, Pharaoh Khufu (Jack Hawkins) is set on building an ela…borate tomb for himself and his gold after he dies. He takes Vashtar (James Robertson Justice), an indigenous architect, captive and forces him to design the tomb and in trade will set his people free. During the building process Khufu is sent a Cyprian woman (Joan Collins) as a tribute, little does he know she has plans to steal his riches. The film had thousands of extras and was one of Hollywood's largest productions to date. Shot on location in Egypt. Two photographs 8 x 11 inches. Near Fine with hole punches in the top margin. All nine photographs with mimeo snipes, Sandra Lee Kaplan photography stamps, and publishing stamps on the versos, others variously with provenance stamps and annotations (see image…s). Five of the photographs feature Cash exclusively, two feature Cash and his step-daughters Rebecca Carlene Smith (here Karleen) and Rosie Nix Adams (both of whom appeared as extras in the film), one of Adams and Kirk Douglas' son Eric, and one of Cash with June Carter Cash and their newborn son, John Carter Cash. Desperate for money, two aging gunfighters conspire to organize a public showdown for which they plan to sell tickets. Partially shot on location in Santa Fe, New Mexico and Madrid, Spain. 7 x 10 inches to 8 x 10 inches. Near Fine overall, with light edgewear, three with masking tape on the verso, and one with masking tape on the verso extending beyond the margin with cropping annotations (see image).
