"Whether or not computers have now attained their infancy, as is often heard today in this computerized world, their use in the field of music is still at an embryonic stage. Eisenhower, presided over the transformation of the United States from a fragile agrarian republic into a continental power and then a global superpower. Washington established the precedents of the office, including the cabinet system and the voluntary surrender of power after two terms. The early presidents from Adams through John Quincy Adams, most of them Virginians or Adamses, defined the limits of federal authority, doubled the nationâs territory through the Louisiana Purchase, and confronted the strains of the War of 1812.
