Pictorial Hard Cover. Condizione: Good. Condizione sovraccoperta: Fair. Davis (illustratore). The cover has light green cloth with an illustration in orange, green, and black. B/W frontispiece; 28 chapters. The cover's top and bottom edges have darkened. The spine strip has a 1/4 in. hole and a 2 in. line of thinned cloth. The text block ends have darkened and have a little shelf wear soiling. One page has a 7/8 in. stain on a margin and 12 nearby letters in the text. A few page margins have light, fingerprint soiling. The front pastedown has a peeled tear that is tipped back together with glue.The DJ has shelf wear soiling and darkened paper. The top and bottom edges and the front fold have 8 chips, up to a linear 2 1/2 in. The sky area of the illustration has a 3/8 in. stain. The back panel's top margin has a closed tear and a wrinkled spot. Scans e-mailed upon request.

Hardcover. Condizione: Good. No Jacket. This G quality first format book, is #5 in Carter's 12-book "Boy Scout" series; it was copyrighted by A. L. Burt in 1913, is 7-1/2" tall with 256 numbered pages; there is no series list in this book. The book has a very slight lean, is heavily soiled with a fairly heavy amount of wear; the bottom edge of the front board has a small ding and all four corners are bumped with slight fraying at all four corners; head and heel of the spine are bumped, with fraying at both ends. All edges have a moderate-to-heavy amount of wear. The spine is heavily soiled but its small image is quite clear and the lettering is visible. The front panel is heavily soiled and worn but the illustration is still reasonably intact. Except for a penciled name on the FFEP, the interior is completely free of writing and stray marks; about a dozen pages have small, non-intrusive stains as well as faint water stains on the bottom 1/2" from 188-256. The text paper is very mildly toned and is quite flexible and not at all brittle. The frontis is intact and firmly attached. The rear hinge is strong and not damaged in any way; the front one is weakened and the cheesecloth exposed for the entire length of the hinge. The book has no remainder mark and is not a former library book.
