Hardcover. Condizione: Fair. No Jacket. Rebound. Brown cloth boards. Two leather labels with gilt lettering affixed to spine. Slight rubbing to edges and joints; minor scuffing. Binding is tight. Interior has a faint tidemark along all edges of pages and moderate wrinkling. Occasional marginalia in pencil. Text block has a deckle fore-edge and a faded gilt top stain. Includes an introduction by Eugene Field. Compiled while Stone was still a student at Harvard, this is the first bibliography that focused solely on American authors.

Babington on the front pastedown. This copy has an unrecorded variant title-page (see Kramer). Spine slightly faded. Minor rubbing to spine ends and hinges, else a near fine copy.
