Vol. I shows detached front cover and partially disbound contents, with 1/2" loss at heel of spine panel, thus Fair to Good only; Vols. II and III show minor handling wear, Vol. III with partial separation along rear joint, thus VG. Former owner signature inked on upper front cover of vols. I, II. Text in German. Among other accomplishments, Hoff was the first recipient of the Nobel Prize in chemistry, in 1901. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Book.
