Hardbound. Blue cloth with gilt letters on spine, dark and light blue, color-illustrated dust jacket. 240 pp., 16 color and 326 bw plates. "The most comprehensive and authoritative guide ever published on the great variety of patterns produced by the famous firm of New Hall at their factories at Shelton in Staffordshire between 1782 and 1835. New Hall, under the original partnership of Heath, Warburton & Company, was founded in 1781 as manufacturers of hard paste porcelain. In about 1812 the company changed their production to bone china, but by 1830 the firm was in decline and in 1831 their factory was unsuccessfully put up for auction. It was later rented out but the final closure and sale of stock did not take place until 1835. . Over 900 patterns are documented in the present book and a high proportion are illustrated, many for the first time. . This is an essential handbook for anyone who collects, or is interested in, New Hall." (dj) A fabulous reference, wonderfully illustrated. Uncommon. VG (DJ may have a small tear along bottom of rear flap; it may have former ownership marks; otherwise clean.).
