Except for library markings on spine, top edge and endpapers, this copy is unmarked with modest usage wear. Note: this copy does not include a slip case.

Introduction by James Franklin Beard (illustratore). Colophon: Nineteen hundred and fifty copies of this edition of The House of the Seven Gables have been printed for the members of the Imprint Society. The text is composed in twelve on fourteen point Monotype Walbaum 374 and printed from the type by Clarke & Way, New York, according to the typographic design of Richard Hendel. A special permanent laid paper bearing the Society's watermark was manufactured for this book by Monadnock Paper Mills, New Hampshire. The biding is by the J. F. Tapley Company, New Jersey. Stow Wengenroth's original lithograph on stone was printed by George C. Miller & Son, Inc. New York. This copy is 485 signed by James Franklin Beard. Tiny faint spot on back cover, otherwise fine. Large 8vo. 10-3/16" x 7-1/4". Light brown paper covered boards. Brown endpapers. . Beige leather spine stamped in gold. 282 pp.
