Irenius Eupistinus est le pseudonyme non identifié d'un auteur qui défend un point de vue catholique différent, s'adressant à ses" frères protestants", considérant que " nous ne pouvons ni ne voulons ignorer" ce qu'on apporté les grands noms de la pensée protestante dans les dernières décennies. Et il cite après des théologiens, deux philosophes, Wolf et Kant. Heinrich Gottlieb Tzschirner lui-même (1778-1828) était un théologien protestant rationaliste, considérant que le principe supérieur de la moralité du christianisme était celle là-même du sens commun.
