Lester Young, Clarinet and tenor saxophone, is joined by Buck Clayton, trumpet, Freddie Greene, guitar, Jo Jones, drums, and five others on "Three Little Words," "Way Down Yonder in New Orleans,", etc. (most recorded in the early '40s for Commodore Records, principally with sidemen who were fellow members of Count Basie's band.) These recordings of Chu Berry, tenor sax, who died in a car crash in 1941, were also made for Commodore in 1938 and 1941. Chu is joined by either Roy Eldridge or Oran "Hot Lips" Page, trumpets, and four others on "Gee, Ain't I Good to You," "Body and Soul," "On the Sunny Side of the Street," etc. Reduced from $12.50.
