Jean Jacques Manget (1652-1742) practised in Geneva with great success. In 1699 the Elector of Brandenburg made him his first physician. His literary work, in which he was assisted by Daniel Le Clerc (1652-1728), chiefly consisted of collecting and reprinting in large volumes important treatises on medicine, anatomy and chemistry.
