Mr. Hardeman was a teacher, preacher, founder of National Teachers' Normal and Business College (later named Freed-Hardeman College), and horse enthusiast. B&W photos are at the end of the book. The top and bottom edges of the spine strip are a little softened and have a little color loss. The text block ends have darkened; the top corner has water stain. A tenth of the pages' top corners have a crease line(s), often through the text. One page has a vertical crease line. A margin on each of four of the front pages have pinpoint size stains.
