Hardcover. Condizione: Near Fine. Nice original 1870 Victorian sports & recreation book, "Popular Amusements." The book is overall in very good+ condition with just some minor signs of wear and age. The covers only have some light wear. The binding is good and sound. The interior is lightly toned from age but is mostly nice and clean, though there may be the occasional page with a light bit of foxing or grubbiness. There is a period name inscription to the blank flyleaf. Along with that there may be the very occasional page with some kind of other minor imperfection such as a creased corner, light bit of soiling or grubbiness, nick or tiny chip, minor stain or marking, etc. Generally though, it's a very nice copy. The book measures approximately 7 inches by 4 3/4 inches and is 209 pages long. It has chapters on the theater, horseracing, baseball, billiards & card playing, dancing & balls, social gatherings, novels & reading, etc. Please look at all of the photos to further note the condition.
