Jérôme Platus, né à Milan en 1547, mort à Rome en 1591. Il en…tra dans l'ordre des jésuites, devint secrétaire du général de la compagnie, le père Aquaviva, dirigea ensuite le noviciat et eut Louis de Gonzague pour élève. On lui doit ce traité, publié en 1580 en latin et traduit en français pour la première fois en 1607. cf Larousse XIXème. "Cet ouvrage a plus opérer de conversions qu'il n'a de lignes.
