Illustrated. 32 unnumbered pages. 10.75 x 7.75. No copies noted on OCLC. Illustrated 1921 catalog of chicken eggs for hatching: Orpingtons, Plymouth Rocks, Rhode Island Reds, S. C. White Leghorns, and White Wyandottes (trap nested, bred for winter eggs). Poorman also sold stock (yearlings, pullets, cockerels, cocks, hens) and baby chicks. Includes photos of record laying chickens, customer letters/testimonials, information on his prices and inventory, advice on caring and management of Poorman's strains and of baby chicks, incubation, etc. There are a few pages about the feather brooders he uses, with pictures, and which he would sell the plans for. There is also a three page article, with pictures, about his business operation and farm, taken the American Poultry Journal in 1919. A notice of a price advance from Feb-May is tipped in on page 15. John George Poorman (1882-1955) was a poultryman for many decades and had his central farm in Tinley Park (Cook County), Illinois, about 22 miles outside of Chicago off the Rock Island line. He started his business around 1900 and it appears that he retired sometime in the 1940's. In 1948 he moved to Beaumont, California. He was the author of Poorman's Poultry Guide (1922).…
