About the book >.>.> For many years now, the theme of the identity of the city of Florence, the redefinition of its profile and its functions has occupied a place of importance in the political action taken, ranging from economy to sociology. It is not as much the urban transformation of the city, a fascinating and obligatory pas-sage in the construction of an urban profile worthy of being called modern, as the identification of a sort of social character and civil attitude. I believe that, in this sense, Florence has built its own identity around the fact that it is a crossroad, a meeting place for different cultures, peoples and religions, gen-erating a multitude of cultural, civil and political opportunities. Additionally, the Florentine identity, both within the city and the world, is unequivocally defined by its art. Furthermore, the city's geography and her-itage is characterized and expressed by both historical and contemporary works of art. It is important to note, however, that to consider art solely as a form of expression is extremely limiti.
