Paperback. Condizione: new. Paperback. 20 years of unparalleled exploration and discussion of important international contemporary artists continue in Parkett No. 74, which features collaborations by Bernard Frize, Katharina Grosse and Richard Serra. Frize's most recent paintings are created by teams of performers following intricate scores for the intertwining and knotting of ribbons of color, to dazzling effect. Grosse has also quietly been furthering the sort of formalism thought to have been exhausted by Abstract Expressionist and Color Field painting in the 1960s and 1970s: she takes to exhibition spaces with spray guns and goggles, jetting paint directly onto interior architectural elements to install kaleidoscopic dreamscapes of color-fueled intuition. Serra has recently put in a long-term installation at the Guggenheim Bilbao, and made an enigmatic work in stone on a remote Icelandic island. The issue includes texts on Serra by Hal Foster, Kate Nesin, Theodora Vischer and Kenneth Baker, and similarly bountiful files on Frize and Grosse, with work from writers including Jordan Kantor, Gregory Volk, Paul Mattick, and Hans Ulrich Obrist. Among the issue's freestanding pieces, Lytle Shaw writes on Jockum Nordstroem; Louise Neri on Trisha Brown and Lawrence Rinder on the San Francisco based "Mission School." Carsten Nicolai provides the spine design. Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.

Aggiungi al carrelloSoftcover. Condizione: Fine. Abnutzung / Risse - leicht. Text: Adam Budak, Elisabeth Lebovici, Ulrich Loock, Chantal Mouffe, Michal Nanoru.

Softcover. yellow wraps w/ iridescent printing & spine. 216 pgs w/ color & bw illustrations. "Published on the occasion of the exhibition Fugues in Color, presented at the Fondation Louis Vuitton, this catalogue is testament to the importance of five painters from different backgrounds and generations within contemporary abstraction. Sam Gilliam (United States, 1933), Katharina Grosse (Germancy, 1961), Steven Parrino (United States, 1958-2005), Megan Rooney (South Africa, 1985), and Niele Toroni (Switzerland, 1937) have transformed the color-surface relation by breaking free of traditional frameworks. Their untrammeled, expansive painting spreads in space and enters into a close dialogue with its architectural environment." --Publisher/WorldCat.
