Hardcover. 52p., features a block print by Covarrubias (original strike? we do not know) a futurist portrait of the author, plus an offset photoreproduction of VV in childhood. Rubricated titlepage (in green), number 29 of a run limited to 300 copies. The interior of this item is fine --portraits, hinges, etc.-- but the fine-press mavens who designed the cover did not decree sturdy binderywork, and book's papered green boards and their onlaid spine- and cover-labels are deeply abraded and scratched. As is. Centaur bibliographies; No. 5. Van Vechten is candidly modest about his personal productions; it was near the onset of his serious interest in African Americana, which seems not to be represented here, unless is surfaces amongst the numerous bits of his unsigned journalism and reviews.
