Five original stereoview photographs. Three sized 6 x 3 in. mounted on 7 x 3.5 in. beige-coloured tan studio boards, Kilburn w/ imprints below, size of images & verso, 2 only w/ ink MS annotations; two 6 x 3 in. silver gelatin mounted on gray studio boards, printed imprint & caption, scalloped upper fore-edges (minor dustsoiling, shelfwear), still a VG group, from the library of Prof. Marvin Nathan. Five original and scarce stereoview photographs of the Lewis & Clark Centennial Exposition & Oriental Fair, which marked the anniversary of the famed exploration over the Louisiana Purchase. These stereoviews illustrate the Sunken Gardens, the U.S. Government Building, the Agricultural and Foreign Palaces, interiors, and the iconic Forestry Building. Benjamin Kilburn (1827-1909). and his brother Edward (b. 1830) initially operated their business together until Edward retired in the 1870's, and by 1872 they had a large photographic stereoview card factory one block from the Littleton trains station. Young salesmen carried the stereoviews on the trains, and by the early 20th-Century the company was the most extensive producer of stereoview photographs, purchasing images from such photographers as William H. Rau, the Kiser Bros., and others. Wasson (fl. 1899-1939) originally founded the International Stereograph Co. in 1899 in Decator, IL, and produced a wide range of images, often in the West, maintaining studios in Idaho, Arizona, and Oregon as well.

Nine original stereoview albumen Woodburytype photographs, sized 6 x 3 in. mounted on beige-coloured studio boards, sized 7 x 3.5 in., all w/ printed captions & photographer's imprints, a couple w/ former ownership markings on versos in ink manuscript, 7 w/ scalloped upper fore-edges (minor dustsoiling, minor wear to fore-edges), still a VG set of images from the library of Prof. Marvin Nathan. Nine scarce and original albumen stereoview photographs detailing the exhibits, sights, and the sensational lighting effects achieved at the Pan-American Exposition in Buffalo, NY in 1901. Many of the Exposition buildings, including the prominent Electric Tower were covered in approximately 2 million 100 watt incandescent light bulbs, producing an incredible display when turned on each night attracting millions of people who visited. This Exposition marked a defining moment in Buffalo history, with the city becoming the focus of international architectural, artistic, technological and industrial attention at the Fair. Arnold (1844-1927) was previously the official photographer of the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago, and it appears Kilburn contracted to produce and distribute stereoview images using Arnold photos.
