Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book studies diabetes, a disease causing excessive production of urine with a sweet taste. Known since ancient times, diabetes was first linked to sugar in urine by Thomas Willis in the 17th century. Building upon Willis's work, the author traces the history of diabetes through the discovery of glucose in urine, a defining characteristic of the disease. The author details the progression of the disease, including symptoms such as thirst, weight loss, and increased appetite. Concluding the book is a study of the composition and properties of diabetic urine, including the methods used to measure sugar content. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
