The original green wrappers and 462 pages are bound in.From the collection of Henry Vignaud with his bookplate affixed. A well known US Consul in Paris for 34 years who was a scholar and collector of historic exp…lorations and discoveries. Vignaud built a fine 50,000 library of Americana and gained an international reputation as an historian for his work on Columbus. An additional bookplate was removed at some point and the receipt is laid in. There is some waviness to the text, suggesting the possibility of old water damage, though there is no staining.
