First printing of 3,000 copies. Catalog from Laffoley's 1989 show from Kent Gallery, limited to 3,000 copies. Inscribed by Laffoley "To: Rollie Ristine, architect / From: Paul Lafolley, 1998". Laid in is a healthy amount of related loose material: the press release and illustrated program from Laffoley's 1998 show "Building the Bauharoque" at Kent Gallery, presumably where this copy was inscribed; a xerox of a piece on Laffoley in a 1996 issue of Artsmedia with a note in blue pen regarding Rollie and with Laffoley's phone number, although seemingly signed "Bob"; a xerox of the Bauharoque program with a cover page of a spreadheet by Ristine dated 3/9/98 working out comparisons between Laffoley and Achilles G. Rizzoli, potentially for a piece that was seemingly never published. Paul Laffoley was an accomplished artist and founding member of the Boston Visionary Cell, and is uncommonly collected. This catalog is scarce like most of his work, and highly uncommon signed. Very Good, with some soiling to rear board and mild edgewear. Hardcover [quarto] in black cloth with stamped lettering, 108 pp. No dust jacket, as issued.

Seit Mitte der 1960er Jahre setzt er sich in seinen Gemälden und Papierarbeiten mit komplexen Theorien zu Philosophie, Anthroposophie und naturwissenschaftlichen Themen auseinander. Er destilliert das Wissen von so unterschiedlichen Geistern wie Richard Buckminster Fuller, Goethe, William Blake oder C.G. Jung und entwickelt fantastische Theorien über Zeitreisen, schwarze Löcher oder mathematische Fragen zur 4. und 5. Dimension. Seine oftmals stark farbigen, mit Schrifteinheiten versehenen Arbeiten sind gekennzeichnet von einer technisch-geometrischen Formensprache, gepaart mit Einflüssen aus Spiritualität und Science-Fiction. In sogenannten "thoughtforms" legt er seine Überlegungen und geistigen Einflüsse zu jedem Werk schriftlich nieder. Die Publikation begleitet die erste Einzelausstellung Paul Laffoleys in Europa.
