From the preface: "This bibliography was compiled. to provide a useful tool for scientists carrying out studies of the Black Sea. In 1681, Count Luigi Ferdenand Marsilii, Italian naturalist, geographer, soldier and pioneer in the field of oceanography, noted the double currents in the Bosphorus. This is the earliest work cited in this bibliography. Although some references are cited for the intervening years, for practical purposes this bibliography begins with 1890, the time of the first Russian oceanographic expedition in the Black Sea, and continues to mid-1973. The bibliography is fairly complete with respect to Bulgarian, Romanian, and United States literature and contains most of the USSR references available in North America. It is weakest in its coverage of Turkish literatureÂ". First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good condition/No dust jacket. Illus. by NOT a library discard. 8vo. 382pp. Great Packaging, Fast Shipping.
