Some general rubbing on front. Born in Madison County, MT in 1896, Clark has seen the old-type cowboy and prospector go and the hom…esteader, modern rancher and miner come. He spent lots of time with the Salish Indians at their celebrations and hunting trips. The artist spent 30 some summers on various Indian Reservations, but calls the Blackfoot Reservation home. Sixteen poems all illustrated in brown. Some of the aptly illustrated poems include Joe, the Old Bronk Stomper; The Why of the Buffalo Piskin or "Jump"; Krego, the Cayuse Frenchman; and An Afterthought.
