Trade Paperback. Condizione: Very Good. Tandysh, Melissa - Design and Layout (illustratore). First Printing. 242 Pages. Top of front cover has 2 ½ inch light crease. No other defects noted. Interior text pages are flawless. When fourteen-year-old wannabe cowboy Noah Odell and his widowed mother leave rainy Gold Hill, Oregon, to join Noah's flamboyant Uncle Bud on a ranch near the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico, they find themselves in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by desolation: daily temperatures in excess of one hundred degrees; enough rattlesnakes, buzzards, and hungry coyotes to start a zoo; a dozen scrawny steers; and a smelly outdoor toilet overrun with black widow spiders. Bud presents Noah with a cantankerous mule named Brimstone, and the adventures begin. Accompanied by an unlikely cowboy philosopher and a precocious tomboy prodigy, Noah and his mule encounter some of the Chihuahuan Desert's strangest characters. Green space monsters, eccentric Apache college professors, jackalopes, royal Spanish ghosts, and an inept gang of local bullies assure that summer days on the ranch are never dull, especially when the U.S Army lawyers and MPs try to confiscate the ranch to expand a top-secret rocket-testing facility at nearby White Sands Proving Ground.

Prima edizione Copia autografata
Hard Back. Condizione: Fine. Carpinello, Cheryl - Layout and Production (illustratore). First Printing Stated. 182 Pages. Signed by the author on the Title Page. It is a used book in as new condition with flawless interior text pages. This book travels back to 1330 BC Egypt. When 15-year-old Rosa agrees to help the ghost of King Tut find his lost queen Hesena, she doesn't count on falling for him. Once back in Ancient Egypt, Rosa discovers that finding Hesena is not all she must do: She must keep out of the reach of the living Horemheb, who crosses mortal boundaries using Seth's evil magic, if she is to stay alive to make it back home. This book is based on the schism that shot through ancient Egypt when, according to historians, the Pharaoh Akhenatenturned his back on Thebes and the gods of Egypt. He built his own city to honor his god the Aten, and he insisted that the people of Egypt do the same. Along with this, he supposedly refused to send troops to defend Egypt's borders thus incurring the wrath of the then General Horemheb. When Tutankhamen becomes pharaoh, he reverses Akhenaten's proclamations and returns the governing center to Thebes and the worship back to the god Amun. However, the damage has been done, and by the time Horemheb attains pharaoh status, he has proclaimed the betrayal of the Egyptian people by Akhenaten so widely and so much, all members of the family including Tutankhamen and Ankhsenamun and Ay are dishonored. The historical significance of this story is the main reason the author was able to write Sons of the Sphinx. Needing to help right a wrong done over 3000 years ago and reunite the boy king with his queen (whose tomb has yet to be identified or found), allows the protagonist Rosa the opportunity to come to terms with who she is and what her place is in this world. This book was the 2014 Literary Classics Silver Medal Winner for PreTeen/Tween. Signed by Author(s).
