No slope, no twist, no distortion from reading or improper shelving. Pages are tight and essentially clean with a few instances of pencil marks. Name stamp of previous owner on the top of the front flyleaf and top of the half title. No musty odor. No tobacco odor. No water stains. No soiling. No sun fading. No dust jacket (as issued?). 969pp.

Hinges cracked and outer spine wrinkled and glued back on - all is tight. Some old light water stains at edge - but still quite good enough and usable for its rare association. Has the "Krotona Institute of Theosophy Ojai California" bookplate neatly on blank front end paper "There is no Religion Higher than the Truth" along with eagle "The Brotherhood of Man and pillar arch and cross design of interest. In old ink is written "Donated to Krotona Library by C.E. Morison 1927. Also has a neat rubber-stamp on bookplate "Discarded by Krotona Library" with some pencil notes regarding "water damage". At back end paper are library markings and covering a small yet partially legible typed "Abodes and Perfumes of Our Masters" showing some Master name and a little data - partially covered. Unique!
