Hardcover. Condizione: New. Limited Edition. Hoberman Collection UK, United Kingdom, 2012. NEW SEALED UNREAD - Condition: New. Deluxe limited (one of only 250 copies) ed. Language: English. Brand new Book. In this epic volume, renowned photographer Marc Hoberman presents London in a way never seen before! Through a visual journey of over 280 large-scale colour photographs, London and its surrounds is showcased as it really is: towering landmarks fill the book's pages, below them London's life-blood - its people fill the city's streets. Beefeaters, Camden Town punks, bobby's-on-the-beat, they re all here but so are the everyday Londoners that make up the city s true character - tourists scrunching their mouths at tube maps, public schoolboys with disheveled uniforms/perfect hair, harried crowds on Christmas-time Oxford Street and a quick cell phone text while queuing for a red telephone box. Complemented by dramatic double-page aerial photographs and text by award-winning author John Andrew, LONDON! is a true homage to the world s capital and sets a new benchmark for the genre. London! Deluxe Edition is limited to 250 copies internationally and includes a collectible limited edition signed and numbered photographic print, certificate and luxury clamshell casing. SEALED AND UNREAD! Extrememly heavy, will need extra postage depending on destination. Signed by Author.

Corcoran, advisor to President Franklin Roosevelt, architect of the New Deal and a friend to the Johnsons. (illustratore). Limited Edition. Additional inscription on the half title: "For Tommy Corcoran - who shared these wonderful years - and so many more - a friend for all seasons. Devotedly, Lady Bird Johnson. Merry Christmas! 1970." An exceptional association copy. Thomas G. Corcoran (1900-1981) was a principal strategist of Franklin Roosevelt's New Deal, shaping historic legislation such as the Securities Act of 1933, the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938. Along with Benjamin V. Cohen, he created the Securities and Exchange Commission and worked unsuccessfully to "pack" the Supreme Court in 1937. He left the Roosevelt administration after the second term, becoming one of the first modern day political lobbyists. As a lobbyist, he helped his friend, Lady Bird Johnson, gain FCC approval for her purchase of a radio station in Austin, Texas. He also ensured the election of Lyndon Johnson to the Senate in 1948, by using his influence over the Supreme Court to clear Johnson of charges of election fraud in his campaign for the Democratic nomination in Texas. The Johnsons owed much of their personal and political fortunes to the recipient of this book.

Hardcover. Condizione: New. 1st Edition. Self-published, 2018. New,in publisher's shrink wrap, signed and limited first edition. A lavish production. Over-sized edition (14.5" x 11.5") In publisher's shrink wrap sleeve. Includes a newly composed 2-part piece to accompany the work's exhibition. This lavish hardback is published by Eamonn's D1 imprint in an edition of 1000. Working with a 1951 recording of an Irish Keen musician, David Donohoe has composed a new, two-part piece for voice that accompanies this body of work for exhibition, and is included in the book as a 10 vinyl record tucked into a sleeve inside back cover. Through the intense color images of K, we follow a figure that shape-shifts as it travels across this landscape. Entirely veiled in cloth, the figure is spectral, changing in color and materiality (shape-shifting!) as it is propelled by gravity, wind, water and light. In places it appears almost gaseous, in others it is molten and at times the weight of being earthbound becomes apparent. Accompanying these color images, K includes a number of dense black and white photographs that appear to describe some kind of seismic evidence. A Fine copy, signed by the Doyle in white marker pen. Soft cover. Condizione: Near Fine. Limited Edition. EXTREMELY RARE. Signed on the title page and numbered 5 of only 100 copies. This is a truly sought after pamphlet by this great poet. Obviously collectable, and the only slight fault is a superficial near fold on the cover paper, which I have tried to photograph as clearly as I can. This is a fragile pamphlet, and if you are a fan of this man's work you will want it. There is great work here, subtle, sincere and not at all 'show off'. Signed by Author.

Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good. SCHAEFFER, Albrecht. Die Wand. Dramatische Phantasmorgie in einem Aufzug. Berlin, Otto von Holten, privately printed for Gotthard Laske, May 1922. 4to. 67 + [1] pages of text + colophon leaf with author s autograph signature in ink. First word of the title and the name of the recipient on colophon leaf printed in blue letters. Original publisher s half morocco binding with author s name and title in gilt lettering on spine; lightly worn. This dramatization of an interlude in Goethe's Italian journey is the first book privately printed for the noted Berlin bibliophile Gotthard Laske (1882-1936), a wealthy outfitter, who acted as a generous patron to authors, and commissioned a number of publications. Unique edition, beautifully printed in the New Elzevir type on hand-made paper, limited to 100 copies only: the present copy, number 10, was printed for Lilli Wolff, a member of a Berlin music publishing family. The subject of the play, written in 1919 by the wellknown German writer Albrecht Schaeffer (1855-1950), is Goethe s visit to his friend Heinrich Meyer at Stäfa on the Lake of Zürich in 1797 as part of his celebrated Italian journey. The action is set at the Alte Krone Inn, the main characters being Goethe, Meyer, and a young lady also lodging at the inn. Cloth. Condizione: Fine. Deluxe limited edition of "Read My Lips: No New Taxes," signed by Presidents George H.W. Bush and Gerald R. Ford. (illustratore). Deluxe Limited Edition. Octavo, [6], 159pp, [3]. Blue cloth, quarter black leather, title in gilt on spine and cover. Housed in the publisher's matching blue cloth slipcase, in fine condition. From a limited edition of 175 numbered copies and 26 deluxe copies signed by President George Bush. This book is a presentation copy, held back for the author and signed by President George H.W. Bush and former President Gerald R. Ford (pg. 57). A scarce piece. In November 1990, President George H. W. Bush signed the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1990, which raised several taxesincluding increasing the top individual income-tax rate from 28 percent to 31 percent, raising the alternative minimum tax, and tightening high-income itemized deductions and exemptionsas part of a deficit reduction compromise. The decision directly contradicted his 1988 campaign pledge, "Read my lips: no new taxes," frustrating many conservatives and damaging his credibility. This reversal became a central issue in the 1992 presidential campaign, where Democratic challenger Bill Clinton used it to question Bush's trustworthiness, and many analysts cite Bush's broken promise as a major factor in his defeat to Clinton.

Octavo, [2], 97pp. Gray paper covered boards, cloth spine. Title on label affixed to front cover. Faint soiling to cloth spine, some wear to tips of boards. Originally published with brown paper dust jacket, with limitation in pencil on cover, but lacking here. Housed in custom blue quarter leather clamshell case. Includes the original sales receipt and correspondence from 1967, as this copy was purchased by Franklin Roosevelt Bookiana in Chicago (Hunt H. Unger). In 1923, Mr. Roosevelt purchased the 148 Page manuscript of the minutes of the New York Council of Appointments. In 1925, at Roosevelt's urging, the New York Historical Society published sections of these minutes. They simultaneously agreed to produce 50 copies of this limited edition collection of the historical documents. (Horowitz, 22) (Not found in Halter) This copy is hand numbered by Franklin D. Roosevelt on the colophon page, noting: "50 Copies Printed for me, January, 1925. No. 41. Franklin D. Roosevelt." An exceptionally scarce limited edition, hand numbered by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Of the 50 copies produced in 1925, only 15 were distributed to members of the New York Historical Society and Roosevelt family members. In 1943, Margaret Suckley found the remaining 35 in storage and researched who had received copies in 1925. This copy, being number 41 of 50, is one of the "Suckley" copies, gifted to notable members of the Roosevelt Administration in 1943.

Cloth. Condizione: Fine. Signed limited edition of "Read My Lips: No New Taxes" by President George H.W. Bush. (illustratore). First Edition / Limited Edition. Octavo, [6], 159pp, [3]. Blue cloth, gilt titles on spine and front board, with gilt signature on front cover. Limited edition of 175 signed copies and 26 lettered copies, signed by former President George H.W. Bush. This is limited edition number 170 of 175, signed by President Bush on the half title.

Full leather. Condizione: Near fine. New Era In World Affairs, a signed limited edition printing, inscribed by President Harry Truman to Attorney General Francis Biddle. (illustratore). Limited Edition. Octavo, [iv], 58pp, [2]. Brown morocco, title in gilt on spine, presidential seal in gilt on front panel. Light wear at edges and along front seam. Top edge gilt. Housed in custom blue clamshell, title on spine on red morocco label. Limitation page states this is Number 21, from an unspecified, but limited edition publication. The book is inscribed by President Harry S. Truman on the front free end paper to Francis Biddle, the United States Attorney General during WWII and judge at the Nuremberg Trails. Inscription reads: "To Hon. Francis Biddle, with best wishes for a very Merry Christmas. Harry Truman. Dec 25, 1949." An exceptionally rare publication and piece of presidential history. Francis Biddle was the first member of the Roosevelt Administration that President Harry Truman sought to replace. According to Biddle, it was not easy for Truman to fire him face-to-face, but after Truman asked, he walked over to the President and said: "You see, it's not so hard." After his resignation, President Truman appointed Biddle to serve as a judge at the Military Tribunal at Nuremberg. Biddle was serving as the United States Attorney General when President Roosevelt died in 1945. He held numerous posts in the Roosevelt Administration, including the Director of the National Labor Relations Board, United States Solicitor General and then Attorney General. As Attorney General during World War II, he pursed the prosecution of German spies, enforcing the decision to hold a military tribunal instead of trying them in civilian court. In Ex parte Quirin (1942), the supreme court ruled the military tribunals were lawful. This decision has been used as the legal basis for Guantanamo Bay military commissions.
