First published in 1776, Thomas Pownall completed a revised second edition by 1784 but it was not published until 1949--this edition. Edited with a preface and footnotes by Lois Mulkearn; foreword by Lawrence Henry Gipson. From an edition limited to 2000 unnumbered copies. 235 pages with 2 fold-out maps at the rear; b&w illustrations; 8.5 x 12.5 inches. Condition: Good+ clothbound hardcover with light rubbing along the bottom edges of the boards, library markings (relatively discreet) throughout, and a 2-inch tear to one of the maps; solid sturdy binding, no library pocket. Ships the next business day, wrapped in padding, in a box.
