Hardcover. Condizione: Near Fine. 1st Edition. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, black cloth boards clean with only slight handling wear. The internal binding is good and text pages are tight. There are no hinge issues, no handwriting or signatures, no remainder marks. The only reason the condition was lowered from fine was due to the inside of the rear end page containing a small address label size sticker from the original store: Cantrell's Chess Books of Panellas Park, FL. Over the decades this label's adhesive darkened the rear end page in the corner (see photo). We acquired a large collection of chess books over 40 years ago, most of which were kept packed away until the time of this listing - which is why the condition has the look of a newer book.
