Aggiungi al carrelloSoft cover. Condizione: Fair. The second issue (of two) of this rare amateur journal printed by hand-set type and sewn into printed paper covers. Dated May 15, 1936. Includes material by Clark Ashton Smith & J Vernon Shea. The yapped cover edges are chipped and torn. A FAIR copy of a rare fanzine. Accompanying THE DRAGON FLY is…Roy A Squires Catalog II which focuses on Lovecraft, Smith and Barlow his own self, offering the authors copies of his publications, manuscripts and books from Barlow's library. The catalog is undated but issued ca 1969. A damp mark at bottom edge else a good copy, includes the original mailing envelope. Of note is the fact Barlow's own copies of THE DRAGONFLY are in less than stellar condition. No statement of limitation but unlikely to exceed 100 copies each. Perhaps the most significant item herein is a collection of 160 letters from Lovecraft to Clark Ashton Smith priced at $12500. Of even more interest to this cataloguer is a scrapbook of 119 ORIGINAL Smith drawings offered for $475! A few are inscribed on the verso to HPL or Barlow. A cause for idle daydreaming and a reality check for that way-back machine that is parked somewhere. Roy's catalogs were always a joy to receive fresh in the mail.

Aggiungi al carrelloHardcover. Condizione: Fine. Very limited edition reprint of the legendary 1930's Fantasy/weird fiction fan publication whos' contributors are a virtual whos-who in the weird fiction field. Published from September 1933 thru February 1935 this includes all 18 issues meticulously scanned and bound in black paper covered boards wi…th tan cloth spine. This is the limited boxed issue, copy #2 of only 100 copies so issued which includes a board slipcase with paper cover label, a portrait of editor Hornig laid in. Also included is the publishers thank you notice and the postcard noting that copy #2 would be shipping on September 27th. Slipcase and book faintly bumped at one upper corner else an as new copy. There was also a "trade" edition which is equally scarce, I believe only 100 were done of that edition as well. That edition includes a dust wrapper but no slipcase. H P Lovecraft's seminal essay SUPERNATURAL HORROR IN LITERATURE is included in it's complete form; regrettably THE FANTASY FAN had its demise before it could be completed back in the day. Lots of cheesy "print on demand" editions of this around - eschew them and go for the real deal. A true fan labor of love.
