The covers are worn and discolored but the lettering on the spine is still legible. There is some fraying to the edges. The contents are tight and clean. The previous owner's name (Harvey L. Slatin) Is written in ink on the front paste-down. All-in-all, a decent copy of the original edition. ; Association copy: This copy belonged to Manhattan Project scientist, Harvey L. Slatin. He was a physicist who worked on the isolation of plutonium at Los Alamos in the Special Engineering Department. His signature is on the front paste down written in ink. ; In text diagrams, charts, graphs, photos; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; xviii, 538 pages pages.
