Front endpaper corner clipped, damp stain and ink book store stamp on front pastedown, cover spine sunned and corners worn. Mrs. Abbott's reminiscences of her life as the housekeeper and assistant to her uncle Padre Alejandro Buckler at the Santa Ines Mission from 1904 to 1924. From the Foreword: "The story of the restoration of Santa Ines as told by the house-keeper, an exact and inspired description of Mrs. Abbott's duties, is not only the story of rebuilt walls, bell towers, mended vestments and so on, but the story of a Mission by the side of the road which gave loving hospitality to all who came knocking at its door." B&w illustrations by Nicholas Firfires and 2 leaves of b&w photo plates. (9"x6").

Jacket is near Fine except some light sunning to spine lightly affecting the photograph of Ms. Abbott on the rear panel. Shows nicely in a new mylar sleeve. Very clean and most presentable First Edition. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall.
