Novelist and activist Upton (1878-1968) is best known for his influential muckraking novel The Jungle (1906); he also won the Pulitzer Prize for Novels in 1943 for Dragon's Teeth. Mississippi-born Mary Craig Kimbrough Sinclair (1882-1961) was a writer who collaborated with Upton on the early novels Sylvia and Sylvia's Marriage. The book is unmarked; spine slant; corners and spine ends bumped; some wear and staining to the top of the spine. The dust jacket is not price-clipped (original price $5.00); chipped, edgeworn, soiled, and creased; Brodart protected. Signed by Author(s).

But in her autobiography, Craig said she never wanted to publish it because she found that "emotionalism and sentimentality among Confederate veterans made writing an objective study impossible."
