Soft cover. Condizione: Good. This is the September - October 1940 issue of "The American Rose Magazine" (Vol. III, No. 11), published by the American Rose Society in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The editors were J. Horace McFarland and R. Marion Hatton. Even the Old Rose Fellowship was not immune to the overwrought pull of politics; though there is nothing within the magazine that is political, the front cover states what was all American minds in the months leading to the impending election. Although America had not yet entered the war that was unfolding across the oceans, people were preparing, at least mentally through rosy-colored glasses. Said J. Horace McFarland, editor of the magazine : "The presidential campaign is the live political disturbance of the time.
