Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book explores the Canadian pulp industry of the early 20th century, examining the challenges and opportunities faced by manufacturers seeking to establish a thriving domestic paper industry. The author argues that Canada possesses the natural resources and potential to become a g…lobal leader in paper production. Yet, the country faces significant obstacles, including a lack of investment in manufacturing infrastructure, protective tariffs imposed by the United States, and a failure to fully capitalize on its vast timber reserves. Through a detailed analysis of industry practices, the author highlights the need for a comprehensive government policy that encourages domestic manufacturing and limits the export of raw materials. The book ultimately calls on Canada to recognize the immense economic and environmental benefits of developing a robust paper industry, urging policymakers to adopt a bold vision for the future. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.
