Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - Während der Weimarer Republik war der Komponist Georg Nellius (1891-1952) Leitfigur für den rechten, antidemokratischen Flügel der Heimatbewegung im Sauerland. Nach 1933 vertonte er Hymnen auf den Führer und den deutschen Faschismus, welche er in…Herne sogar von den Schulkindern singen ließ. Als Musikpolizist mit NSDAP-Parteibuch fahndete Nellius nach Noten und Versen aus den Werkstätten jüdischen Künstler, um ungehorsame Chorleiter maßregeln zu können. Nach 1945 wollte er dies alles aber vergessen und behauptete, er sei den Nationalsozialisten nur aufgrund von Zwang und Drohungen dienstbar gewesen. In einem dritten Anlauf konnte er im nunmehr in deutscher Eigenregie durchgeführten 'Entnazifizierungsverfahren' gleich zwei Kategorien 'nach unten' rutschen und galt fortan als 'unbelastet'. In der Straßennamendebatte 2013-2014 behauptete eine Bürgerinitiative in Sundern auf dieser Grundlage, Nellius habe mit Judenhass und dem NS-System nichts zu tun gehabt. Die hier neu aufgelegte und ergänzte Dokumentation setzt hingegen auf einen seriösen geschichtswissenschaftlichen Zugang. Sie zeigt, dass der antisemitische NS-Musikfunktionär aus dem Sauerland Adolf Hitler schon vor der Machtergreifung leidenschaftlich verehrt hat. Seine musikalischen Kriegskompositionen - bis hin zum bitteren Ende - zeugen von einem Kult des Todes.
