Aggiungi al carrelloTaschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - The subject of the book is the mathematical theory of the discontinuous Galerkin method (DGM), which is a relatively new technique for the numerical solution of partial differential equations. The book is concerned with the DGM developed for elliptic and parabolic equations and its applications to the numerical simulation of compressible flow. It deals with the theoretical as well as practical aspects of the DGM and treats the basic concepts and ideas of the DGM, as well as the latest significant findings and achievements in this area. The main benefit for readers and the book's uniqueness lie in the fact that it is sufficiently detailed, extensive and mathematically precise, while at the same time providing a comprehensible guide through a wide spectrum of discontinuous Galerkin techniques and a survey of the latest efficient, accurate and robust discontinuous Galerkin schemes for the solution of compressible flow.

Aggiungi al carrelloHardback. Condizione: New. 1st. This book is concerned with mathematical and numerical methods for compressible flow. It aims to provide the reader with a sufficiently detailed and extensive, mathematically precise, but comprehensible guide, through a wide spectrum of mathematical and computational methods used in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for the numerical simulation of compressible flow. Up-to-date techniques applied in the numerical solution of inviscid as well as viscous compressible flow on unstructured meshes are explained, thus allowing the simulation of complex three-dimensional technically relevant problems. Among some of the methods addressed are finite volume methods using approximate Riemann solvers, finite element techniques, such as the streamline diffusion and the discontinuous Galerkin methods, and combined finite volume - finite element schemes. The book gives a complex insight into the numerics of compressible flow, covering the development of numerical schemes and their theoretical mathematical analysis, their verification on test problems and use in solving practical engineering problems. The book will be helpful to specialists coming into contact with CFD - pure and applied mathematicians, aerodynamists, engineers, physicists and natural scientists. It will also be suitable for advanced undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students of mathematics and technical sciences.

Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - These proceedings collect the major part of the lectures given at ENU MATH2003, the European Conference on Numerical Mathematics and Ad vanced Applications, held in Prague, Czech Republic, from 18 August to 22 August, 2003. The importance of numerical and computational mathematics and sci entific computing is permanently growing. There is an increasing number of different research areas, where numerical simulation is necessary. Let us men tion fluid dynamics, continuum mechanics, electromagnetism, phase transi tion, cosmology, medicine, economics, finance, etc. The success of applications of numerical methods is conditioned by changing its basic instruments and looking for new appropriate techniques adapted to new problems as well as new computer architectures. The ENUMATH conferences were established in order to provide a fo rum for discussion of current topics of numerical mathematics. They seek to convene leading experts and young scientists with special emphasis on con tributions from Europe. Recent results and new trends are discussed in the analysis of numerical algorithms as well as in their applications to challenging scientific and industrial problems. The first ENUMATH conference was organized in Paris in 1995, then the series continued by the conferences in Heidelberg 1997, Jyvaskyla 1999 and Ischia Porto 2001. It was a great pleasure and honour for the Czech numerical community that it was decided at Ischia Porto to organize the ENUMATH2003 in Prague. It was the first time when this conference crossed the former Iron Courtain and was organized in a postsocialist country.
